I have two 1984 Sequoias, one 56cm I bought new in 85 and rode to New York and have been using ever since except that I gave it to my son a few months ago. The second is a 58cm (I always thought the 56 slightly small) that I found on craigslist about ten years ago. Your solution sounds...Scott, thanks for the advice. Your solution sounds like a good idea. The only worry I have with this arrangement would be a need to adjust the fender stays while on the road. For example, if the front fender was bumped while being locked up on a bike rack, and is now dragging on the tire. With the R-clip clamped to the inside of the dropout and a regular M5 bolt, you will need to take off the front wheel to do such adjustment. One solution is to use hex-head bolt that you can tighten and loosen, even when the head is inside the dropout with an open hex wrench. I might give this a tryAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03991895435591324772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2714914347675518470.post-74092772118894215502013-02-25T08:38:49.142-08:002013-02-25T08:38:49.142-08:00I had a solution for this problem that I used on m...I had a solution for this problem that I used on my rSogn with VO fenders and a Blackburn low-rider. I can't find a photo, so I'll try to describe it. From inside to outside -> M5 bolt head -> r-clip -> dropout eyelet -> M5 lock nut (this also acts as a spacer for the rack) -> another M5 lock nut. When mounting the low-rider rack, all I had to do was take off the outermost lock nut, slide the rack over the exposed part of the M5 bolt, and then replace the lock nut.
